Rolluda Architects provided for the Seattle Public Schools (SPS) predesign, programming and schematic design for a complete renovation of this 1927 Historic Register school, and an addition of a new gymnasium building and entry foyer.
The renovation completed the interior and exterior renovation of the school. Windows were upgraded for increased energy efficiency. Three floors were removed to create an atrium at the center of the school.
New skylights in the atrium and relites bring natural light into previously windowless classrooms.
A public entry and lobby connect the new gymnasium to the existing classroom building.
