National School Boards Association Jury Citation, Cascadia Elementary
The NSBA recognized Cascadia Elementary, as a part of its 2009 Exhibition of School Architecture. The citation reads: "WOW-what a cool place for kids to attend school. Irregular shaped classrooms to support a variety of teaching methods, with a large activity area to support each six classrooms. A simple compact design that uses natural light as well as indirect lighting in the classrooms. The jury felt this was a well thought out design, cost effective construction, and constructed in a short period of time."
