The University of Washington's Ethnic Cultural Center (ECC) was originally built in 1972 in response to student demands, and to recruit, retain, educate, and graduate minority students. Over 30 years of success has led to a program that has vastly outgrown the existing building.
In collaboration with McFarland Marceau Architects, we are designing a new Ethnic Cultural Center that will be a multi-level building with conference and office spaces for student organizations and activities. It will continue to support the goals of the ECC, promoting success of the University's diverse students.
