Deepa was born and brought up in Chennai, Tamil Nadu in the southern part of India. She earned a degree in Architecture from the Regional Engineering College (now National Institute of Technology) in Tiruchirappalli as well as a Master’s in Architecture from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and a Master’s in Project Management from the National University of Singapore.
Deepa has worked at several architectural firms and gained more than seven years of experience working on various kinds of projects including residential, educational, retail, and office interiors. She has the skill and experience in carrying a project through the different phases—from conception to completion.
Deepa is a registered architect in India and possesses an interest in sustainable architecture. Her Master’s thesis was a solution to sustainable Aging in Place. She also completed an independent study on bio-mimicry to develop passive shading devices in buildings using bimetals. Deepa strongly believes in designing quality spaces for people to live and use while trying to reduce the carbon footprint.
Deepa lives with her family and enjoys spending time with her girls and singing Indian classical music.
Deepa is currently working on interior improvements for South Seattle Community Centers, and the Restroom expansion for the Front street park at Leavenworth.
