NOTICE OF FILING OF APPLICATION UNDER THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF LABOR’S

PERMANENT LABOR CERTIFICATION PROGRAM 

POSITION TITLE: Designer II 

POSITION DUTIES: Support the development and production of design, specification, and working drawings on projects. Provide support for Construction Observation Phase and Facility Assessments. Prepare Finish Schedule and Material Board as well as presentation materials and project rendering. Take notes and prepare minutes of project-related meetings. Help with consultant coordination throughout all phases of the project. Develop design and technical solutions. Assist with the design, graphics, and drafting of drawings in all stages of the design. Perform code research. Provide support on feasibility study reports and programming documents. Pick up redlines verbatim in CAD or Revit accurately and efficiently. Redline, generate, and annotate plans, building sections, and elevations as well as wall types, wall sections, and enlarged plans/elevations. Redline and generate details – interior and exterior. Redline, create, and complete door, window, finish, and color schedules. Redline and generate door, relite, and window details. Cartoon simple project sets. Permitting Code and create code drawings. Telecommuting permitted up to 50% of the time from Seattle MSA. 

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Architectural Engineering, or Architectural Design, or a foreign degree equivalent. 

Minimum of 2 years of experience in performing architectural design, including 2 years of experience with all the following: 

  1. Translating complex designs into clear construction documents; 

  2. CAD drafting (Revit/AutoCAD required); 

  3. Working with SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite; 

  4. Working with building materials, construction detailing, and building codes; 

  5. Planning, design development, design, and contract documents; and 

  6. Multi-project, collaborative design team experience. 

Experience may be gained concurrently. 

SALARY: Salary range of $67,500 to $73,500. All wages while categorized will be based on specific skills of each candidate.

BENEFITS: 

  • 50% to 100% paid support of your choice from 3 medical and vision plan options through United Healthcare – including HSA account-backed plans and traditional deductible medical Plans with optional pediatric dental plans. Coverage starts on the first day of the following month you begin full-time employment; 

  • A dental plan with a $2,000 per year benefit limit offered through Delta Dental which is currently supported at 50%. Each participating employee pays the other 50% through a $12.57/pay period payroll deduction. 

  • A $20,000 basic life, accidental death, dismemberment, short-term and long-term disability insurance with Principal Life. An additional $25,000 life insurance through MetLife. An opportunity to take advantage of group policy rates to avail of Voluntary Life Insurance with the same carrier, Principal Life; 

  • $400 yearly stipend to use for Continuing Education, Architecture Licensing Fees, and Remote Workstation set-up. 

  • An ORCA transit prepaid card. 

  • 8 paid holidays plus 2 floating holidays. 

  • 3 weeks (i.e., specifically 16.5 days) of discretionary PTO (Personal Time Off in a combination of Vacation and Sick/Safe Leave); and 

  • A company-sponsored 401-k retirement plan that all employees must share in and through which (when properly vested) Profit Sharing is distributed. 

LOCATION OF EMPLOYMENT: Full time; 40 hours per week. Position at Rolluda Architects, Inc. in Seattle, WA.
