Expatriate architects and designers share stories from their native places all around the world, of their journeys to the Pacific Northwest, what they encountered in their new home and how they are making it work—and even thrive here.

 

Co-presented by Seattle International Architecture Forum and Rolluda Architects, this event promises a rich tapestry of experiences and inspiring stories of resolve and resiliency.

OAC is hosting its first-ever Connecting Construction: A DEIB Symposium this October 18th! The event will explore how we can increase innovation by expanding inclusivity in the construction industry. Our very own Alex Rolluda is one of the event's guest speakers:

“Meet Alex Rolluda, President/Principal of Rolluda Architects Inc., and an active participant in the business and ethnic communities of Seattle. Rolluda Architects’s vision is “architecture transformed by the power of collaboration and diversity” – with that, Alex is inspired by collaborating with architects and designers of different backgrounds to create wonderful built environments.”

The Federation of Philippine American Chambers of Commerce held its 2022 Bi-annual International Trade and Business Development Conference on August 18-21 at the Seattle Westin Hotel. This theme of this event was CONVERGENCE: Techology | Convenience | Sustainability. The conference was attended by several hundred professionals from around the world.

Our very own Alex Rolluda participated in a panel of small businesses and government agencies. Other programming included workshops and talks focused on international trade and investments, global communications and financial technology, the built environment, global and mass communication, international trade resources, and business development. The event also provided numerous opportunities for socializing and networking.

Rolluda Architects participated in the 2022 Fred Hutch Obliteride. This global event took place on Saturday, August 13, and united people from all walks of life to help raise funds and awareness for lifesaving research. We were able to surpass our donation goal and spend quality time with coworkers, friends, and family. Thanks to everyone who joined us in-person and virtually, we couldn’t have done this without you!

Photos from AREAA's 2nd Annual "Pretty in Pink" Golf Tournament 6/20/22
Team Rolluda had a great time putting around for a good cause at AREAA's 2nd annual ‘Pretty in Pink’ golf tournament! In recognition of breast cancer awareness, a portion of all the proceeds will be donated to NW Hope and Healing. We are thrilled to have been apart of this tournament and we had so much fun spending time with everyone at hole #13! Thanks to AREAA for hosting such a wonderful event.

June 9, 2022 1:30-4:30 pm | Port General Industry Day: South Concourse Evolution

Come learn about the upcoming South Concourse Renovation Project (GC/CM) at Seattle Airport. This PortGen will focus on the growth of SEA Airport and its upcoming renovation. The project may also include federal infrastructure funding. Representatives from the Diversity in Contracting Department and project/division-specific representatives and decision-makers will discuss the South Concourse Renovation. Port staff will share information about resources for small/WMBE businesses, policies and procedures.

February 15, 2022 | SMPS DEI Discussion Panel

Our very own Alex Rolluda is appearing as a speaker on SMPS's Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Beyond the Mandates panel. Join him, SMPS, and 3 other speakers for a panel discussion  about how large, small, and MWBE firms and marketers can change the narrative from DEI being something mandated to something that is meaningful to all parties involved.
