Gallery One is a community based, non-profit art gallery and art center. Their program includes an art gallery, a gallery store, a ceramics studio, classroom, studio space for local artists, and support spaces. The Stewart Building, located in the Ellensburg National Historic District, is a fine example of late Victorian architecture. It is a two-story masonry bearing wall structure originally built in 1889.
The project scope includes a complete restoration of the primary facade: ornate cornices, windows, brick and stone elements, and the design and reconstruction of the missing historic storefronts. The project is designed to be fully accessible. It includes seismic improvements and new mechanical and electrical systems.
The project was awarded the historic preservation award by historic Ellensburg.
