High Point Community Center
city of seattle parks & recreation
The project involved complete renovation of the existing 10,000 sf facility, and a 10,000 sf addition, raising it to the current standards of community centers in the Seattle Parks and Recreation system.
The expanded facility includes a new multi-purpose space with an adjacent kitchen; a teen room for dances, games and music; and a lobby designed for use as a large multipurpose space for games, TV and large gatherings. Although it is primarily an interior space, the lobby is filled with natural filtered light from skylights and clerestory windows, creating a cozy, inviting space for relaxing.
