Kathi Williams PhD, AIA, NCARB, Associate DBIA, LEED® Green Associate

Associate Principal

“Multi-disciplinary, exciting, and challenging are all words that help describe my thoughts on architecture, particularly when you combine these with society, people, and art. My background helps me combine the artistic side of architecture with the technical skills needed to bring our clients dreams to life.”

Kathi was born and raised in a small coastal town in Maine. She left small-town life to attend Wellesley College outside of Boston. Already interested in architecture, she spent her junior year in Strasbourg, France studying art, civilization, and culture. Upon completion of her Bachelor’s degree, Kathi’s career took a slight digression from architecture to structural engineering and on to mechanical engineering. She graduated from UC San Diego with a Master of Science and PhD in Applied Mechanics and Engineering Science in 1989.

After a short turn as an Assistant Professor in Mechanical and Environmental Engineering at UC Santa Barbara, Kathi returned to her earlier interest in architecture and entered the architecture program at the University of Washington. She graduated in 1996 and has worked with a wide variety of firms with specialties ranging from municipal, transit, educational, industrial, and healthcare facilities to mixed-used and single-family residences. Her favorite part of the process is working with the client and users to create spaces that are aesthetically pleasing and functional.

Kathi lives in Seattle and enjoys spending her free time cooking, gardening, and reading to her cats.
