Western Regional Center

As part of a 2013-2016 on-call contract with NOAA, this project involved the condition assessments of nine buildings that form the NOAA Western Regional Center, located on approximately 100 acres along the shores of Lake Washington in Seattle. Originally a Naval base, NOAA acquired the site in the early 1980’s and it remains as originally developed.

RAI assessed the conditions of each building, including full inspections of all systems and architectural components to determine whether or not they had exceeded their useful lives or had remaining useful life. With this information, we made priority recommendations to the Owner. We worked with NOAA to develop a long-term plan to guide the proposals to obtain capital investments for either new construction, remodels, and/or repairs.

Scope of Work included: Campus-wide facility assessments (interiors/exteriors); Site infrastructure and landscaping assessments; Identifying and prioritizing repairs, renovations, and replacement of systems and components; Planning-level cost estimates; Assessments completed without buildings occupied

Type: Government (Federal)                             Client: National Oceanic & Atmospheric Admin (NOAA)

Location: Seattle, WA                                        Project Lead: Alex Rolluda
