Lab II Science & Arts
the evergreen state college
The Lab II tenant improvement involved demolition of the existing 2nd floor laboratories and classrooms and the build-out of new laboratories and support spaces for Science and Arts.
The improvements include the construction of a science lab, a print-making lab, a fine metals lab, a dedicated art studio and associated support spaces. The demolition involved a complete removal of existing architectural and mechanical systems and a partial demolition of the existing electrical systems. Restrooms were upgraded to meet current accessibility standards.
RAI provided on-site design representation. During schematic design, preliminary layouts of the spaces were developed. Programming elements were adjusted to further meet the needs of the College. During design development, layouts were refined and interior elevations developed. Design specifics (plans, elevations, schedules, and details) were incorporated into the construction documents.
