GSA commissioned Rolluda Architects to provide architectural services for a critical roofing rehabilitation at the historic Federal Office Building in downtown Seattle. Because the facility is a designated historic structure, the project required meticulous preservation standards. The scope of work centered on the 16,000 sf low roof section, where the degraded bituminous roofing system had reached the end of its operational lifespan. Rolluda managed the comprehensive demolition and removal of the old system without compromising the building's historic architectural integrity. Leading the project through every phase of development, the firm delivered detailed architectural design, technical specifications, and rigorous construction administration services. To modernize the facility, Rolluda specified a high-performance, single-ply PVC roofing system. This new installation significantly enhances energy efficiency, improves weather resistance, and ensures long-term protection, all while strictly complying with federal guidelines and historic preservation mandates.
