Belarus is the last dictatorship in central Europe. Freedom there is limited by the length of the chain that the dictator threw around the neck of the people. Having illegally seized power for 26 years, he exploits the population and enacts violence with impunity. The patience of the people had finally reached its limit when the usurper, having lost an election, falsified the data and declared victory. The people peacefully went out to protest in the streets. The dictator responded with armed police and military force against the people. The people of Belarus don't want to go "back to the USSR." They don't want the red-green flag of the former BSSR. Belarusians want their national white-red-white flag. They want their own country and their own language without a pro-Russian dictatorship. They want to be a part of the global community and not dragged into a new Russian Empire by the dictator.
